ABOUT US
Fay-Penn was incorporated in 1991 to assist in the economic development revitalization efforts in Fayette County, Pennsylvania.
We are a membership based organization, designated as a tax-exempt, nonprofit under Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code. Our funding comes from revenue generation by Fay-Penn operations, various local, public and private contributors and foundations, and grant and loan support from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and federal government for specific projects. All contributions are used to support economic development revitalization efforts throughout Fayette County, including providing assistance to other economic development organizations and initiatives.
As part of our mission, we are committed to providing comprehensive business development services to make our clients more competitive in a global marketplace.
Our Mission
To stimulate all phases of economic development in Fayette County, to promote industrial development and tourism and recreation, to encourage the improvement of community facilities and services, education and cultural facilities, health services, and housing and transportation (highways, air, rail, and water), to support comprehensive planning and redevelopment and preservation of the environment and natural beauty of the County, and to pursue other activities which will improve the quality of life in Fayette County.

As the Certified Economic Development Organization (CEDO) for Fayette County, Pennsylvania, we drive economic growth and empower businesses through startup, expansion, and attraction initiatives. Fay-Penn has been a cornerstone of economic development for over thirty years, continuously adapting our strategies to tackle emerging challenges and capitalize on new opportunities. Our commitment to fostering a thriving business environment is reflected in the following key strategies.
Business & Entrepreneurial Support
Provide direct assistance to clients to support business startups, locations, expansions, and attractions, such as site location, financing, workforce, business planning, referrals, and other relevant assistance.
Real Estate Development
Invest in new, renovated, and expanded business development sites and buildings in anticipation of meeting the needs of potential business development clients in a timely manner.
Planning & Initiative Development
Develop programs, initiatives, and resources designed to meet current economic development needs and opportunities to generate growth for all Fayette citizens.
Community Revitalization & Historic Preservation
Work with local community leaders and organizations to assist in planning and funding community revitalization and historic preservation projects.
Co-operation & Collaboration
Cooperate and collaborate with local, county, regional, and statewide partners, where appropriate, to assist in other economic and community development opportunities.
